What does an Employer Risk if He Disregards the Complaints Filed by EEOC?
After I was fired for complaining to my boss and his district manager about being harassed numerous times within the prior year, I followed through with the EEOC sexual discrimination and retaliation complaint in September. The charges were presented to the management of my previous employer in the month of November but to date there has been no word from them. I fear they can decide to dismiss the complaint, or even bury it in a bid to shield my bosses. The question that arises, is whether the EEOC will take any action against an employer that refuses to answer their complaint? Can they just sit and do nothing about it? All I want is my job back but I am worried how they are going to respond to it.
